Navagio

Zakynthos is an island rich in sights and there are many places to visit and many things to do during your stay. The most popular sight which you mustn’t miss is the famous all over the world Navagio, a picturesque beach in the northern coast of the island, with clear blue water.

Blue Caves

Close to Navagio you can find the Blue Caves with the dreamy waters, with the clear blue color, which are accessible by boat.

Marathonisi

The Marathonisi is a small island in the Lagana bay with no residents. Its shape looks like a big turtle and this is why it is known as the “Turtle island” abroad. It looks like an exotic island, because it combines white sand with intense vegetation. The beach is visited by the famous turtle Caretta- Caretta.  The seabed of Marathonisi is amazing and ideal for diving.

Vasilikos

Vasilikos is a picturesque place in the south part of Zakynthos. The peninsula of Vasilikos is known for its natural beauty, its greenery, mountains as well as many beaches.  In the area of Vasilikos there are many beaches, some of these are Gerakas, Porto Roma, Porto Zoro, Banana and Saint Nikolas. All the beaches are sandy, with clean waters and ideal for families and small children. The beach of Saint Nikolas has the best diving centre in the island, with clean waters, ideal to explore.

National Sea Park in Gerakas

The National Sea Park in Gerakas is also worth visiting, not only because it is situated in one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, but also because it offers visitors the chance to learn more about the endangered Caretta- Caretta. Kilometers of sand, exotic landscape, warm and shallow waters. At this beach nests its eggs the Caretta-Caretta turtle.

Makris Gialos and Xigia

Makris Gialos and Xigia are two of the most beautiful and special beaches of north-eastern Zakynthos with clean waters and picturesque landscape. Both beaches are quite deep and mainly have pebbles. The waters of beach Xigia contain a high amount of sulfur and are considered healing. You won’t find many seabeds and umbrellas but it’s worth visiting for its unique landscape.

Porto Limnionas

At the beach Porto Limnionas you won’t find sands, but only rocks, but it’s really worth exploring, as it is a wonderful, rocky beach with wild beauty in the western part of Zakynthos and is an ideal place for diving. If you don’t have the necessary equipment, you can admire the rich seabed with a mask and a snorkel. It’s a “virgin” place which maintains its natural beauty. You can visit this beach with a private boat.

Bohali

Bohali is a village in the mountain hill of Zakynthos and is the ideal place to admire the panoramic view of Zakynthos town. There are several café-bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy an ice cream, a coffee, a drink, as well as the traditional sweets of Zakynthos, like “frigania”. The view from this place is magical, especially with the sunset, or late at night, when Zakynthos town is lit. Here you will find the Venetian Castle.

Zakynthos town provides many places of interest as it is the capital city. Such places are the Byzantine Museum, the Museum of Solomos and Calvos, the church of Saint Dionysios and the church of Saint Nikolas.

Keri

An ideal place where you can enjoy both the sunset and your dinner with a view to the sea is Keri, which is situated in the southern part of Zakynthos. The lighthouse of Keri with a height of 9 meters is also worth visiting. From this point you can enjoy one of the most magical and picturesque sunsets in the Ionio.

With so many remarkable and beautiful places, one only visit to the island is surely not enough.
